Some weddings feel like they belong to another era—in the best possible way.
Caroline and Adam’s November 1st wedding at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant was one of those days. Elegant without being stuffy, romantic without trying too hard, and deeply rooted in tradition, love, and joy.
Alhambra Hall, perched right along the Charleston Harbor, is already a dream venue with its tall white columns, sweeping water views, and historic charm. But on this crisp November day, it felt especially magical. It was bathed in sun, filled with laughter, and soundtracked by classic songs that gave the entire celebration a timeless rhythm.
Guests arrived dressed to the nines, immediately setting the tone. This was a true black-tie celebration. There was an air of sophistication throughout the day, balanced beautifully by moments of pure, unfiltered joy.
Caroline was radiant. Not just stunning (though she absolutely was), but magnetic. Her laughter is contagious. The kind that fills a room, pulls people in, and makes every moment feel lighter. From quiet quiet tears during the ceremony to spontaneous bursts of laughter throughout the evening, her joy was felt everywhere.
Adam matched her energy with steady warmth and admiration, you could see it in every glance, every smile, every hand squeeze.

As the evening unfolded, the reception came to life. Caroline and Adam chose to play classic songs throughout the night. The music felt elegant, timeless, and full of soul. Guests of all ages came together on the dance floor. The celebration was refined and joyful. People stayed on the dance floor, laughed, and fully enjoyed every moment.
Instead of a traditional dessert table, Caroline and Adam surprised guests with a delicious cannoli station. A man walked around the reception and filled cannolis right in front of guests. It was fun, delicious, and instantly memorable.
Guests gathered, smiled, and talked as fresh cannolis were filled to order. It became one of the sweetest memories of the night.

November weddings in Charleston are special and this celebration was one of the best examples. Alhambra Hall is a favorite venue because:
The venue offers grandeur without overwhelming the day and feels perfect for couples who want elegance with a personal touch.

Caroline and Adam’s wedding was not about trends. It was about intention, joy, laughter, meaningful traditions, and celebrating with the people who matter most.
Photographing a day like this reminds me why I do what I do. It was a celebration of love, of connection, and of moments that will be remembered for years.

If you are dreaming of a classic black tie wedding in Charleston, especially in the fall, I would love to document your day. Alhambra Hall is one of my favorite venues and it photographs beautifully in every season.
